Overview

The Direct Debit feature to securely transfer funds from your linked US business bank account to top up your Volopay USD account balance.

Note: The Direct Debit feature is currently available only for accounts in the United States. If you do not see this option in your account dashboard, please contact our Sales Team or Customer Support to have it enabled for your account.


Supported Bank Accounts

Direct Debit top-ups only support US Business Checking Accounts from verified financial institutions.

The following account types are not supported:

  • Personal Checking or Savings Accounts

  • International Bank Accounts

  • Credit Cards or Debit Cards

  • Loan or Line of Credit Accounts


How to Set Up and Use Direct Debit

Step 1: Link Your US Business Checking Account

  • Before creating your first deposit, you must link and verify your bank account. This is a one-time setup process.

To link your account:

  1. Log in to your Volopay account and navigate to the All Accounts section.

  2. Click on the Linked Accounts tab.

  3. Select Add Linked Account.

  4. You’ll be prompted to verify your access to your business bank account via Plaid.

  5. Review your details carefully and submit to complete linking.

Note: Once submitted, linking may take 30 minutes to a few hours.You won’t be able to create direct debit deposits until this process is complete.

You’ll receive an email notification once your linked account is active and ready to use.


Step 2: Create a Direct Debit Deposit

  • Once your account is linked and verified, you can initiate a Direct Debit transfer.

To create a deposit:

  • Go to the All Accounts section on your dashboard.

  • Click the Linked Account tab.

  • Select Transfer Funds on the active linked account.

  • Enter the amount you wish to transfer.

    • Keep in mind any maximum transfer limits or ACH restrictions that may apply.

  • Review your transaction details, including:

    • The source bank account

    • The transfer amount

  • Click Transfer Funds to initiate the transaction.

  • You’ll receive an on-screen confirmation once your transfer has been created.





    Processing Times & What to Expect

Stage

Initiation

Direct Debit transfers are batch-processed and sent to the ACH (Automated Clearing House) network on the next business day.

Funds Availability

It typically takes 3–5 business days for funds to be deducted from your bank account and credited to your Volopay balance.

Weekends & Holidays

Transfers initiated on weekends or US bank holidays will begin processing on the next business day.
