Overview
Enhance your organization’s access control and security measures by establishing customized roles and permissions for your team members. By tailoring roles to specific job functions, you can ensure that each member has access only to the information and tools they need, minimizing security risks and improving operational efficiency. This approach not only strengthens data protection but also fosters a more organized and secure workflow, empowering your organization to manage resources more effectively.
Three types of role in Volopay
You can look for the roles by going to Manage module > Roles and Permissions.
Primary roles
These roles are the main categories under which a user is initially classified when they are invited to the system. The primary role likely defines the baseline permissions and access levels for the user.
'Admin,' 'Member,' and 'External accountant' are primary roles.
Volopay roles
These roles appear to be additional permissions or responsibilities that can be assigned to users who are members. They do not change the primary role of the user but add more specific capabilities within the Volopay system. For example, a 'Card Manager' can manage all company cards, a 'Payment initiator' can initiate payments, etc. These roles are predefined in the Volopay system and cannot be customized.
We can only add member users to these roles.
Custom roles
Custom roles are created by your company admins for specific requirements. They can be tailored from scratch, allowing you to define unique sets of permissions and access controls that are not covered by the primary or Volopay roles. These are flexible and can be modified as needed.
Modifying permissions in Custom roles
After creating a custom role, you can adjust its permissions by following these steps:
Navigate to Manage > Roles and Permissions tab.
Select the custom role, you wish to modify.
At the end of the slider, click on "Edit Permission" button.
Now you can enable/disable any permission as per your need
Click "Save changes" to implement the new permission for this custom role.
